Feeling Christmas

So, this year is the first year I am spending Christmas completely solo. 35 Christmases with family thus far and now I am 2,600 miles away from my parents, with no money in the travel budget, so a quick hello on Skype will have to do. I haven’t been a fan of Christmas since I was a kid. It has felt like such a commercial endeavor for so long that it lost it’s luster. But, with no family of my own to speak of out here in Las Vegas, I had... Read More

Va… Va… Victoria

This past week I had a shoot with Victoria Hart. She is formerly from the UK and has recently relocated to Las Vegas. Victoria, as you may remember, was an overnight sensation a few years back when she sang for the cast of Ocean’s Thirteen at the Cannes Film Festival. Well, now she’s here and she’s all mine to make photos with. I win again… Anyway, I thought I would post some of the photos from our shoot. It was a simple shoot…... Read More

An oldie with Sam, Jessie and Francis

Right around this time last year was incredibly hard for me. I was still going through the difficulties of adjusting to life after my job ending, trying to make a splash as a photographer, my marriage had recently ended and I was getting ready to move across the country from NYC to Las Vegas. Needless to say, August and September of 2009 are a bit of a blur… I was recently reminded on Facebook that the team I shot with for a little trade shoot... Read More

This is your brain on Meagan

There is a girl here in Las Vegas… her name is Meagan Taechon. She’s a model. We’ve talked for quite a while about shooting and were finally able to get together on Saturday. I am very happy she came to the studio. I am also really pleased that Conny Wissenback was able to play makeup/hair for me as well. She is one of the most talented makeup artists I have had the pleasure of working with. You don’t need to look any further... Read More

Hipstamatic and me…

So I downloaded the Hipstamatic app for my iPhone. I love it to death. In fact, I love it so much I am un-jailbreaking my iPhone just so I can buy the add-on packs. If you have an iPhone, you should buy it. Also, if you want to print the photos, go to the settings and make sure you select the hi-res option… gives you more to play with once it’s out of the camera(phone). ... Read More

Photo Bang Bang and Frankenhand

I didn’t realize how long it had been since I posted an entry… so, I have been working on getting Photo Bang Bang off the ground, as well as recovering from hand surgery. Three weeks ago to the day, I had a tumor removed from my right hand. It was a lipoma, so it was benign… I was happy to hear that news. The recovery has been a fairly steady process. It was tough to do much of anything for the first week and a half. I am right handed…... Read More

Wilkommen a Photo Bang Bang

I am opening up a studio in the Arts District in Las Vegas with my partner in crime and Sexy Photo Trip co-host, Matt Terhune and our good friend Curtis Joe Walker. It is at 224 Imperial Ave at the corner of 3rd St in downtown Las Vegas. The space doubles as a gallery for First Fridays out here. We are aiming to have our first, “First Friday” on June 4th. Should be a blast and if you are in the area, make yourself known to us. Do... Read More

Emma Emma Bo Bemma

Emma came by today… she’s a local model who needed a new headshot for her agency. I did the headshot she wanted… then as I was moving stuff around I noticed a really cool little pocket of light hitting the wall from the window up near the ceiling, so I threw on a corset and neck corset and positioned her for action (that sounds way more awesome than it is). I think I found my Julianne Moore… ... Read More

Girls, Corsets and Horses

On Thursday I had the opportunity to shoot at some horse stables in Boulder City, NV. The shoot was setup by Lisa Lorenz. Lisa is a Corset designer based in the Las Vegas area. She is awesome… I like her. I really had no idea what to expect, since I have never really been to a commercial horse stable before… all of the tenants lease space there to keep their horses. I didn’t grow up around horses and had no concept of what it would... Read More

Papa John

When I used to live in Long Island City, there was a homeless man who lived in his car directly outside my apartment. He was 73 years old at the time and lived in the neighborhood all his life. He went by the name “Papa John.” John spent his days and evenings drinking to pass the time. If you walked by him on the street he would most likely wave, smile and say hello. He was a really kind person and aside from talking too much and... Read More
