Right around this time last year was incredibly hard for me. I was still going through the difficulties of adjusting to life after my job ending, trying to make a splash as a photographer, my marriage had recently ended and I was getting ready to move across the country from NYC to Las Vegas. Needless to say, August and September of 2009 are a bit of a blur…

I was recently reminded on Facebook that the team I shot with for a little trade shoot never received images from a shoot we did together right at the end of July/beginning of August. It was a shoot with my favorite model, Sam Mae. Jessie Callan did makeup and Francis Kane did hair. Shoots are great when there is no pressure, nobody is getting paid, and the room is filled with talented people having a good time. I remember the shoot because even with everything going on in my life, it was one of the highlights of the year for me. It’s funny how quickly we forget the times we enjoy… and in this case for me, literally.

So, to Sam, Jessie and Francis: I hope you enjoy the images. I raise my freshly home-brewed cup of Dunkin Donuts original blend coffee to you in tribute. I hope to be back in NYC again soon so we can all have the same kind of fun we had that evening. Oh and by the way… you kids are always welcome to pay me a visit. I mean, it is Vegas and I hear there’s a bunch of stuff to do for people over 21. Just sayin’.
